Artist Statement

"Principles for the Development of a Complete Mind: Study the science of art. Study the art of science. Develop your senses- especially learn how to see. Realize that everything connects to everything else.” — Leonardo Da Vinci

Ariela’s upbringing in rural Vermont deeply impacts her work.  She spent much of her childhood in the wetland and woods of her backyard, getting to know the wildlife.  A scientist at heart, Ariela uses art as a way to study every detail of these animals, but also to express some of the personality or unique qualities of each animal.  She typically works with animals and landscapes with which she has personally interacted and aims to capture the details and feelings of that interaction.
