I spent more than two weeks traveling around the west coast of Ireland this July! It was incredible and difficult and healing, and so many other things. The next several posts will all be about my trip, but use this as a guide for which Ireland posts, if any, would be interesting for you.
For family members who I know are dying to hear all of the fun and exciting details of the trip, these posts are more like a travel blog. Note: there will be a lot of pictures and minute details, especially about food, to cater to my sisters who love living vicariously through stories :-) Be warned that some also include details of my illness. This one is a short, to the point, guide to my ideal Ireland trip.
For those in the chronic illness world (or curious allies) wanting travel tips for maintaining health and sanity, this is a more health-oriented post.
And lastly, Ireland is a special place for me. The last time I felt like a normal healthy person was the four months I spent in Ireland during college. Some of that amazingness carried over this time as well. Some of it did not. I've done a lot of thinking about why; what makes me feel well in Ireland and what was different this time? How can I emulate these differences in the states (or should I just move to Ireland)? This post contains those reflections.
